The British are Here with Patch 0.8.1

World of Tanks are not only celebrating Halloween with a very awesome looking garage but also the British tech tree that rolled out this morning.

Apart from the entire British tech tree three new premium vehicles have also been introduced: the Soviet SU-122-44, the German Panther-M10 and the reason the panzer IV was nerfed; the Schmalturm VI.

If you don’t know much about the British tanks, let me in on a few secrets. Before tier 8 they’re all World War II vehicles and thus use the old World War I British doctrine for tanks. That translates into slow but heavily armoured heavies, and super light but lightly armoured lights. Basically that’s why they’re called what we already know them as.

Tier 8 and above is where they get really interesting. These tanks show the British at their best; high rate of fire, high penetration guns that are accurate even on the move. The tanks themselves are well rounded with good speed and mobility and good protection so even if you don’t like the first 7 tiers you’ll love these.

I wouldn’t shrug off the first tiers though as they have a lot of charm and you’d be the one missing out if you do!

In addition you also have updates for Province, El Halluf, Dragon’s Ridge and Abbey so you’ll have a lot to do exploring these maps and their changes. Also Assault on Prokhorovka has been removed and the option to turn off Assault and/or Encounter has been added for platoons.
