If you’ve been following all the Wargaming news this year there’s been heck of a lot going on with eSports, events such as Bovington and of course Gamescom. Warganing released a video today showing some of the action from the past twelve months. It’s been a pretty eventful year and with a World of Warships test kicking off next year, 2013 is going to be very interesting.
“Our key objectives for the year 2013 are many — deliver two new online free-to-play worlds, continued the expansion of World of Tanks with creative and passionate new content, and further reinforce our ties with our community,” said Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi. “We will also continue to explore new possibilities offered by the free-to-play MMO space to provide players with unique gaming experiences and unite as many people as possible in our free-to-play universe.”
The Russian moderator Wiking explains which mods are banned (eg. you can get a ban for using them):
- mods that increase the visibility of the tracers
- defoliants (mods that remove leaves or conifers from trees and bushes)
- 3D skins with hit zones (AKA hit skins with internal mods shown but the tank invisible)
- Mods that allow free camera movement
“The list might get longer in the future” he warns. Here our very own Locastan makes mods and hasn’t ventured into these lands but many people do seem to want to squeeze every advantage.
So be warned, Wargaming can (and will) ban for mods that abuse the game.

The TD Conway was in development but was scrapped, not sure why.
The current tier 10 heavy FV215b will get a 183mm gun and will be moved to tier 10 tank destroyer instead
At the moment the idea is to put the Chieftain as the new tier 10 heavy!
If you’ve ever watched my show you know why I just got excited, the FV215b didn’t feel like much of a tank for me and I decided to head down the medium tree for the British. However, with the Chieftain on the way I am most certainly going to start down the heavies too.
I’ll keep you updated with a time scale as it becomes apparent.

Hot off the press from Wargaming this afternoon are the first proper screens for World of Warships and they look rather tasty I think you’ll agree.
